Medical specialists later learned what was behind the mysterious event upon cross-examination of the bodies. They traced the sickness back to the presence of black mold in the ancient tomb. Apparently, the walls of the tomb were covered with a thick layer of black mold which released millions of spores when the tomb was opened. Workers and archaeologists had unknowingly inhaled the deadly spores. The result of the inhalation of the black mold spores caused those people who have weak immune systems to succumb to infection of otherwise pending illnesses. After this discovery, they learned the danger of black mold.
The real danger of black mold is that the infected person will almost instantly feel the infection in his system. The black mold is so toxic that the infection can eventually lead to kidney and liver failure and finally to death. Under further research, the black mold was found to release high levels of mycotoxins that are of known types of carcinogens. Because of this, the black mold was declared to be a health risk and the elimination and cleaning of black molds was made part of building and housing codes. Contamination of damp areas with black molds were considered hazards especially when tenants starts to show black mold symptoms. Only by being vigilant can people avoid the danger of black mold infection.
